FEATURED VISUAL ART:

CPR

Helen Whitley

Helen Whitley is completing her foundation training in the NHS. She studied medicine in the Czech Republic, and before that studied art in Scotland. She is passionate about neuroscience and surgical education, and she is a recent recipient of the Barry Hoffbrand prize awarded by the Medical Artists Society in the UK. The drawing CPR captures the urgency of attempted resuscitation in cardiac arrest. The intersecting lines around the hands aim to convey energy and movement in the act of revival.
