Year of Plenty
Paulina Devlin
2020, Year of Plenty is about the irony of two ideas that feel both contradictory and simultaneously true. This year, in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, examples seem to be abundant. We shelter-in-place with our loved ones, but patients with COVID-19 must suffer alone in order to protect our community. We are physically distancing, but rekindling connections through remote internet meetings. We salute healthcare heroes, but our society is not providing them with adequate protection. Supermarket supply chains, usually dependable staples of consumerism, are disrupted.
