of pant legs scraping earth and water.

a pilgrimage 

of atheist devotion,

are you left a lone voyager

in oceanic expanse,

still searching for the north star

as waves lull you to final slumber.

this life you choose is

the only ship that carries you,

beckoning you towards the

vast,

torturous,

insanely

beautiful.

the only life you will ever know.
